November 2, 2009 - Midwest Pilots, Fellow Employees Commemorate Last Flight of Legacy Midwest Airlines
05:34
On November 2, hundreds of Midwest Airlines pilots, flight attendants, and their families greeted the crew of Midwest Airlines Flight 210 at MKE. This flight marked the end of Boeing 717 operations and the end of the legacy Midwest Airlines. ALPA pilots from Air Wisconsin, AirTran, Colgan, Continental, ExpressJet, and United were there to honor and support their Midwest union brothers and sisters who provided 25 years of the award-winning service that helped build the airline’s reputation for “the best care in the air.”
Additional camera work provided by F/O Jim Morris, ATN Communications Chairman.

June 10, 2010 - Final Days of Spirit Pilots’ Cooling Off Period
05:04
This week, Spirit pilots marched in informational picketing lines in Atlantic City, Fort Lauderdale and Detroit. In their final days of the cooling off period, the pilots sent a clear message to management: We will do what it takes to get the fair contract we deserve. Joined by ALPA brothers and sisters, family and friends, non-ALPA represented pilots, and other union employees, there was no shortage of support.

May 13, 2010 - Spirit Pilots Picket as 30-day Cooling-off Period Begins
02:34
After three long years of contract talks between the Spirit pilots and the company, on May 12, the National Mediation Board (NMB) released the parties from mediated bargaining, triggering the 30-day cooling-off period after which the pilots and the company are free to engage in self help (i.e., strike, lockout). The pilots marked the occasion by staging informational picketing directly outside Spirit company headquarters. Joined by pilots from AirTran, American Eagle, Continental, Delta, Pinnacle, and United, nearly 100 pilots marched to demonstrate their unity and their resolve to get a fair and equitable contract for the Spirit pilots. In spite of being profitable for the last six reported quarters and expanding the company’s routes, Spirit management continues to ask for concessions in work rules and benefits from a pilot group that is already operating under a below-industry-standard contract
